SA’s Largest Running Club Joins Running SA
The South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC) and Running SA have today announced a partnership which sees four SARRC events join Running SA as Partner Events in 2017. The landmark deal includes the revamped Holdfast to Haven, the McLaren Vale Half Marathon, the popular Yurrebilla 56km trail run, and SARRC’s flagship event, the Adelaide Marathon Festival.
The Running SA Partner Event program has expanded significantly over the past 12 months and now boasts 20 events to complement the 11 events owned and operated by Running SA, which includes Fitzy’s 5. The SARRC events join the likes of existing Running SA Partner Events such as the iconic Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run, the Kangaroo Island Marathon, and all Yumigo events.
Running SA, a sub brand of Athletics SA, was first launched in May 2015 as a hub for the recreational running community in South Australia and as a vehicle to celebrate, promote, advocate for and showcase recreational running. Running SA’s local reach through its events and partner events is in excess of 45,000 participants annually.
‘SARRC is excited to partner with Running SA, to embrace the running community within South Australia and to most of all enjoy running at any ability be it a start runner or Elite Athlete’ said SARRC Club Manager, Cassandra Liebeknecht.
‘At SARRC it is our vision that every person can enjoy the benefits of running to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. We invite everyone to join us and Running SA in fulfilling our mission to give everyone a reason to run’.
Athletics SA Chief Executive, Adam Bishop, was equally excited to have SARRC on board with Running SA.
‘The SA Road Runners Club has a long history of putting on fun and vibrant events that are professionally organised. They are an important part of the South Australia running community and we are really looking forward to working closely with SARRC and our other event partners to collectively grow the South Australian running community’, Bishop said.
