The Women's Recreational Running Network (WRRN) won an award at the 2016 City of Adelaide Sports Awards held at the North Adelaide Golf Club on Thursday evening 12th May. The WRRN, a free run group operating at various locations in the City of Adelaide took home the Contribution to Lifelong Physical Health sponsored by Back in Motion. The WRRN achieved the award after starting up in March 2015 and to date has over 1000 women registered with the Network. The Network recently expanded to include a monthly free timed Women's Run in the Park Event.
WRRN Run Leader, Doug Smart was almost one of three finalists in the Lord Mayor's Volunteer of the Year Award.
Running SA is grateful to the Adelaide City Council and its Active Ambassador program for its financial support of the WRRN through its grants program.
